Machines for wet or dry disinfection of food products and processing accessories
Hygiene is a top priority in food processing to ensure consumer safety and achieve the maximum possible shelf life. The surfaces of food products or objects in production can be contaminated with germs, fungi etc.. Two processes are used to disinfect surfaces:
- Dry UVC disinfection, which is used for food products* or for processing accessories such as transport crates, packaging materials or tools.
- Wet decontamination, in which hygienizing additives such as chlorine or peracetic acid are added to the wash water.
By disinfecting the product surfaces, either of raw products prior to further processing or as a final treatment step, for example cut surfaces of already processed products, cross-contamination and premature decay are reduced. The solutions can also be used for the transfer from low-care to high-care production areas.
* Use for the disinfection of food products depends on the country-specific statutory regulations.
