KAB automatic basket carousel

After products have been processed in HEWA or GEWA PLUS washing machines, the vegetable and salad leaf carousel fills baskets with the products continuously, hygienically and ergonomically. It reduces personnel requirements, prevents product loss, and enables a flexible, adjustable filling height for different product types.

Continuous, efficient, and hygienic filling of baskets in combination with washing machines

The automatic basket carousel is positioned directly downstream from a washing machine and is used to fill the baskets with the washed product. Once a basket has been filled with the desired product quantity, the flap closes automatically and the carousel rotates to the next position. 

This procedure allows up to four baskets to be filled in succession – without requiring operating staff to manually hold the baskets under the discharge of the washing machine. This in turn ensures higher process reliability, better utilization of the line, and an ergonomic workflow.

Application and suitable products:

The automatic basket carousel is used to hygienically fill baskets with cut vegetables and lettuce leaves. It is ideal for processing companies because it allows larger quantities of, for example, vegetable mixes or leafy vegetables to be continuously processed along washing lines and then dried or transported in baskets.

The procedure at a glance:

  • Baskets are placed on the carousel.
  • As soon as the basket has reached the set filling height, the flap closes automatically.
  • The carousel rotates the filled basket away from the discharge and brings the next basket into position.
  • The filled basket can be ergonomically removed and replaced with a new, empty basket.

A mobile design is available on request. The open design makes the basket carousel easier to clean and maintain on a daily basis.

The KAB automatic basket carousel is designed for use downstream from the HEWA and GEWA PLUS washing machines. It cannot be filled from a GEWA ECO washing machine. For applications requiring other washing machines or alternative filling concepts, KRONEN can offer other suitable solutions or further handling and conveyor technology on request. (fig.
