Research project: SPLASH project meeting in Greifswald

Following the successful test phase on a disinfection method for cut lettuce, the interim results have now been analyzed. These will be presented for the first time at the KRONEN Customer Day on September 29.

At the final meeting attended by the project team, the interim results of the SPLASH research project were discussed following the successful test phase in the production facility of the company Gartenfrisch Jung GmbH. The project will end in November, and the evaluation of the interim results is now bringing the research project on the development of a resource-conserving washing procedure for cut lettuce using a non-thermal plasma method to a conclusion. At the KRONEN Customer Day on September 29, the results on the efficacy and application of the disinfection method will already be presented to participants. Anyone who is interested in this and other innovative solutions can still register until August 10!

KRONEN has been working on the development of an innovative washing procedure for freshly cut lettuce in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB Potsdam), the company Gartenfrisch Jung GmbH and the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Research and Technology (INP Greifswald) since 2019. The project is funded by the German Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE).
