Maximum effectiveness and safety: perfectly peel, core and flexibly cut apples into segments and slices

The AS 6 is a peeling, slicing and coring machine for apples used in the high-care sector of industrial processing. The apples only need to be inserted and are then skewered and processed completely automatically. The machine can process three apples at the same time. Therefore, a capacity of up to 900 apples per hour is achieved, which is equivalent to approximately 135 kg per hour (at 150 g/apple).

Processing in four steps:

  1. The apples are manually placed into the product intake and pneumatically skewered onto the fruit pocket.
  2. The apples are peeled and sliced if necessary.
  3. The core is removed and segments are cut in the same step if required.
  4. The finished end product is discharged separately from the waste.

Common uses:

  • Peeled tidbits, i.e. slices and segments, for example for bakery products or fruit salad
  • Fresh segments for fresh-cut snacks, peeled or unpeeled
  • Slices or rings for dried apple slices and rings, peeled or unpeeled

The machine processes whole apples with a diameter of 55 to 85 mm and a maximum height of 80 mm. As standard, the AS 6 is equipped with two peeling knives and a cutting tube with a diameter of 23 mm with a scraper. In addition, a wide range of wedging knives, slicing knives, and cutting tubes are optionally available.

If apples are additionally to be cut into cubes, the KUJ V cube, strip and slice cutting machine is a good option.

A user can increase capacities even further with two apple peeling & cutting machines AS 6 from KRONEN

Increasing capacities

It is possible to set up several machines in parallel in order to further increase the capacity.

Base frame for the apple peeling & cutting machine AS 6 from KRONEN for ergonomic operation and simple cleaning

Integrated base frame for easy handling

The robust machine is placed on its own base frame. Simple, ergonomic operation and fast cleaning are thus guaranteed. The product outfeed into the hood integrated into the base frame takes place automatically.

The slicing knives for peeling & cutting machines AS 4 and AS 6 from KRONEN allow clean slices to be cut 3.5 mm 4.5 mm, 5.5 mm, 7.5 mm, 10 mm, 14 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm thick
Slicing knives for cutting slices

The slicing knives ensure clean slicing cuts. The cutting tools can be changed quickly and easily. The following sizes are available: 3.5 mm, 4.5 mm, 5.5 mm, 7.5 mm, 10 mm, 14 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm. Other sizes are available on request.

Corers with different diameters can be used in the peeling & cutting machines AS 2, AS 4 and AS 6 from KRONEN for coring apples
Cutting tubes for coring

Three cutters and a scraper are available for cutting out apple cores. They can also be changed quickly and are available in the following sizes: 20 mm, 23 mm and 27 mm. A cutting tube with a diameter of 20 mm (A 2 / AS 4) or 23 mm (AS 6) with a scraper comes as standard.

The wedge stars for the peeling & cutting machines AS 2, AS 4 and AS 6 from KRONEN can be used to divide applies flexibly into 2, 4, 6, 8 10, 12, 16 or 24 pieces
Wedging knives for segmenting

The wedging tool can be added to the coring tool. This means that the apple can be left whole or cut into 2, 4, 6, 8 10, 12, 16 or 24 segments using a wedging knife. With the AS 4 and AS 6, you can produce even smaller pieces in combination with the slicing knife.

The top-cut blade of the apple peeling & cutting machine AS 6 removes the residue peel from the top of the apple after whole apples have been peeled
Top-cut knife

The top-cut knife is available for the production of whole peeled apples. When an apple is peeled, a small strip of peel always remains at the top. This strip of peel can be removed cleanly with the knife.

KRONEN accessories
Knife stand for three wedging or slicing knives

A knife stand is recommended for the proper storage of cutting tools. A stand is available for three wedging knives, and another knife stand for slicing knives as an accessory for the AS 4 and AS 6.

Apple peeling and cutting machine AS 6 from KRONEN can be euipped with discharge belts for good product and waste
Discharge belts for good product and waste

The waste conveyor catches the peel and cores underneath the machine and usually transports them to a trolley or bin. The discharge belt catches the good product and conveys it to the next processing step, for example for treatment against oxidation in the KDB 120 dipping bath.
